Gorgeous baby!!
Duke stamps his progeny with such distinctive face white and he surely does pass it on. What a tragedy that she lose Jessie. He was a beautiful horse. I absolutely adore silver bay. Does this make you a Great Grandma Chrissy?

Is that color only common in certain breds??

Thanks everyone, I think she is stunning! April Great Grandma???? surely you jest! But Yes, I guess it does.... lol Luckily Duke also passes on more than that beautiful head! All his babies are very correct and typey and love bugs as well. Yippeeeeee!!!!!!

Silver Bay is not that common in Welsh, but I do know a full Welsh stallion that is silver, there are many in the Shetland breed, and Jesse's mom was a Silver Dapple Shetland.

This is Jesse's Mom

The base color is bay (although you'd never guess it) with the silver dilution gene. That is where the baby got her bay coloring is from Daddy.

That is such an interesting color!! What percent of the foals have the chance of being a silver bay??

I have no idea what the percentage of chance is with passing it on. Jesse's mom passed it to both of her colts that we know of. However, Jesse did not pass it on to his filly.
