I had the same problem with my horse! I bought the Eqyss Mirco-Tek medicated shampoo (which was highly recommended by the gal at the store) it says right on the bottle it controls dandruff, and it's good for all kinds of skin issues. It's expensive (about 26.00 for a bottle) but you don't need much as it really lathers up nice.

The Equys Skin problem shampoo is great. I would NOT reccommend the Ez-All shampoo. I have heard several complaints about the shampoo being harsh, as well as been advised by vets not to use it.

Got anything to back that up? I've never heard of anything like that! It's all natural! It's awesome stuff and never heard of anything of the sort. I've used it for several yrs now on many different horses and never had one problem!

You may just want to wait until he sheds out. Mine, all of them, each of them on different diets with different coats, get some shed dandruff. Even the one on rice bran. I just wait until they shed out, then give them a bath to get everything out and start new for summer. Some regular grooming may do the trick anyway, but, a good moisturizing shampoo never hurt anyone. Congrats on the new pony!

A Listerine rinse does wonders for dandruff!

Um, yeah. Just typed that several people have told me that it really dried out their horses' coat, and that some VETS told me it was not good for the coat. I personally have never used it, but then again, I don't smoke crack, but I have heard enough bad things about it to suggest that I shouldn't try it. I was just commenting on what I have been told about it. Thought It might help, especially if this horse already has a condition. I am happy that it works for you. I just prefer not to use it.

I'm glad your not a crackhead! I didn't mean to come off rude but it's not bad and made for skin issues. Read up on it and I use it for this purpose and it's awesome stuff! I guess since you haven't used it you wouldn't know! It's totally all natural and leaves a very nice soft shiney flake free coat. I love the stuff and have used it for several yrs for different skin conditions nothing but the most awesome results. But I always use Healthy Hair Care Moisturizer too.

I would like to make a comments in regard to youe statements. We have used ezall for three years on roughly 30 horses per week without one incedent. Our vet recommended it and we can't thank him enough. EQ dealers were making these statements to everyone with not one evidence to back it up facts. Their Total Body Wash is extremely safe. Please visit eZall - Dirt's Natural Enemy! and compare their msds sheet to EQ's, then make your own decision as to the safetly of both products. I truly believe that after years of use if there was a problem we would have seem it. It is great on girth itch as well. The facts are the facts:

why does eq not have this on their website as ezall does.
