| Full Member | Dressage Saddles Help
Okay guys I am trying to find a nice quality used dressage saddle for under $600.00. All the local tack stores have off brands. Do you have any suggestions of brands. I want a nice deep seat. Thanks Sheri |

With a budget of $600 you should be able to get something pretty nice, especially if you are willing to buy used. (the way to go, IMO, the first time you girth up a new saddle it's used anyway!) Here's a link that will show you all the dressage saddles on ebay under $600 that are reputable brand names: http://tinyurl.com/cm6pz you might also check tacktrader.com as well. I've had really good luck buying saddles online. I've bought 3 online, two fit and the third didn't- relisted it on eBay and sold it for more than I paid. I like a flatter seat so couldn't really recommend a deep seat one. I had a courbette cresta grand prix that had a super deep seat, but they don't come up used very often at all.

If you don't mind a minimalist saddle, there are alot of Passier Baums and Stubben Tristans out there. I have one of each. The Passier was $500, and the Tristan was $600(Canadian). I belive you could find cheaper though- mine have extended flaps, which rasies the price a bit. I'd say that Passier, Stubben, older Pessoas, Prestige, Corbette, County, Crosby(although I don't know if they make Dressage saddles), Bates and others are a good bet. |
