Dressage People...Help!

Sorry mods if this is in the wrong spot.

Okay so next month I am riding Owen in a dressage show... just at entry level... but my problem is I am also riding in a kur... and I am not creative at all... so I need help...
(song idea's are great too)(also it is a 20x40 ring)

Here are the requirements:
Medium Walk 10 Meters minimum
Working trot riding
20 meter circle to the left - trot rising
20 meter circle to the right - trot rising
Free walk on a loose rein minimum 20 meters uninterupted
No Cantering... we still are working on that.
And I only have 4 minutes max.

If you guys could help the would be great!

Do you mean you need a test for this that takes in these movements?

Is it full moon time again? Did the cereal truck overturn and fruitloops got spilt?

What about something like this.

Enter at A medium walk
G halt salute
G -C working trot
C track left
A 20 metre circle rising trot
F-x-h free walk allowing horse to lower and stretch
H working trot
C 20 metre circle
A down centre line
x medium walk
G halt salute

I know it is something different to start a test with a walk entry. Nothing wrong with different.

There is definately nothing wrong with different, in fact it makes you stand out to the judge more.

Choose music that suits the personality of your horse.

For eg. if your horse is big and bold choose strong pwerfull music that exentuates this. If the horse is more fine and delicate, choose flowing, soft music. Try to choose mucis that has the same beat as the pace of your hores footfalls (if that makes sense) a 'one-two one-two' beat for trot.

Choose something individual.

Good Luck with the dressage to music
Let us know how you go (include pics!!!!!!)

I think my favorite amatuer Kur I've seen was to the Phantom of the Opera opening. You really need to pick your music first, then design your test. Go to your local music store and buy a cheap metronome... they're less than $10... and get the average tempo of your horse's gaits. It will save you headaches when you're trying to match music to his rythem.

I have no ideas for a test right now, but I just wanted to say I love doing freestyles, and they are so fun. I haven't shown lately (or ridden much for that matter - but that's out of my control right now) but when I did we got really nice compliments on our music. The group of riders from our barn back then had different music than what the majority of people had. Most people had classical type music that you hear a lot, and I had swing music (I used 'In The Mood' one year ), and Rhythm 'n Blues from this site one year had some music from The Little Mermaid Of course we had to find music that suited the horses (I was on a Canadian/Percheron and she was on an Arab).

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I tend to like the music in freestyles that you don't hear very often. Although, you may run into judges that prefer the more classical type of music.

Good luck with it and have fun!!
