Question Dressage pad measurements?

I only have a pattern for AP style pads...I am sure I could alter them for dressage style. What are the dimensions of a standard dressage pad?

The answer is there is no standard -varies by a few inches between manufacturers. Really depends on size of horse and saddle and what you want and how much you prefer in front and back of saddle and down leg. Why there are lots of resale - not big enuf, too big etc.

Measuring my most commonly sold ones: - 22" length along spine - 21" down from top (drop). But I have some that are 23" length. And then I got a new one in for the big guys that is 25" length x 23" drop.

I know I have a Suitability pattern somewhere that has a great pattern for dressage...

where did you find saddle pad patterns? I just made one from tracing another pad onto one of the big pads of paper and adjusting it. If i could find a pattern it might be so much simpler :P lol

I have always made my saddle pads to fit the saddle I'm going to be using. That way I know it'll fit!

For my old arab, he was quite little and every Dressage pad I bought for him literally took over his back. I remember one pad covering him from shoulders to croup!! So I just decided to make a shaped saddle pad for showing. It was perfect, and that way people could really see my horse, and not this giant saddle pad hahahhaa

Fire Dawn, check out www.suitability.com, they have patterns for everything horsey
