This is Solo. Don't mind me in the first pic, it was our first ride together

He's a big mover when he works and has amazing presence in the show ring.. however he is a er.. 'spirited' horse so I'm wondering if I should train him in dressage and take him to some comps (I think he would find it much easier without horses running up his butt like in the showring)

At shows on the ring he can be a handfull (whether he gets excited I got no idea!) but in the individual workout he's an absolute legend.

Please don't critique me I know I got lots to work on lol but do you think Solo could fit as a good dressage horsE? **Be honest!!**

Any horse can do the lower level dressage. The meaning of the word dressage is to train. A dressage test is a test of your horses training and obedience.

Go for it. Dressage can only improve your results in the hack ring.

Any horse can do dressage, but what separates the upper levels from the lower really is just engagement from the hind, balance, and proper muscling.
You should try a couple shows to test if you like it.

You need a horse that listens to your body and does exactly what you want the second you ask for it. Judges are huge on that. & One that can bend nicely. (:

I just had my first dressage show ever this weekend. IMHO its a lot more laid back then jumpers and I like the format of the show. I love how the judge scores individual aspects of your ride and gives you comments on the good and bad.

You and your horse could go very far in dressage. He is beautifully built and by the looks of the picture very well trained too. You would both look amazing in the dressage ring!
