Post Draft horse pedigrees?

Does anyone know any sites that give information on draft horse pedigrees? Or does it not really matter who the parents are? I don't know of any draft horses that show championships or anything... I don't even know where the nearest draft horse show is to me, lol.

well if you're curious to the sire and dam you can look up the info. best is o contact the breeder. i went thru the canadian perch livestock and found out a little about moose's dam and sire and then i decided to register him. i actually talk to his previous owners a lot thru email/phone. you could try the belgian assoc. good luck

I would try the breed registry for the particular breed you have. If that doesn't give you anything, contact the people you got him/her from and see what they know. One of my horses is a registed Clydesdale gelding, and I knew nothing about his dam or sire when I got him, and neither did the people I got him from. But like I said, he is registered, so I contacted the Clydesdale Breeders of the USA and asked them to trace the owners of his dam and sire for me and then I was able to call them on the phone and ask questions. Also, if you know the dam or sires name, try doing a search of their name followed by Belgian. Ex...Miss Mary Belgian or something like that. I did that for my horse's sire and found his website. He is still standing at stud in Canada. That was helpful. It also has on there his entire pedigree up to three generations back. As far as shows near you, do a search for either draft horse competitions, fairs, or once again, go through your breed registry. I'll see if I can find anything for you. Good luck.

HorseCrazy...I don't know if you are looking to show your draft, but if you are, check this site out. It is a list of 4-h shows in Mississippi. I didn't read through them all, but if it is an open show, you can show at it. Hope it helps.
