| Senior Member | When my horse was very strong with me I rode him in an elevator briefly and then a double twisted wire. I was firm with him and he learned stop means stop and to not learn. I downgraded to a slow twist and then a snaffle and hes great 99% of the time in it now. I'd reccoment scholing him temprarily in something like that

| Full Member | He was schooled in a twisted wire, then a three ring elevator and then the kimberwick. I tried the bit today. My horse seemed to really respond. I got what I was looking for, he rounded and wasn't resisting contact. He was seeking it and we had a really good workout. He even played with the bit a bit and foamed up. He usually doesn't do that. So I think it went well. Even one of my coaches hopped on and said it's a good bit for him. Thanks for all the info and advice everyone. |
