Berry was down on hers, and Tate (Ruby's new foal) was down on hers when she first stood.

They usually straighten up in a day or two.

I guess it would be because they have longer pasterns.

I had one that was premature and was *extreme* on all four. Had to hold him up to nurse for the first two days, then he started standing on his own, but was weak. I was told by two people to just put him down. Another guy told me it would self-correct. Glad I listened to the last guy. My little preemie is now a 4YO... very large fella with super-nice pasterns... no ill effects on angle/length, etc. :-)

I was told the same thing about a foal I had 20 years ago (to put her down) and glad I didn't!

My boy did that also he was very long legged and my vet did a IV shot to help him. And he is fine today no problems what so ever.

I am glad you didnt put him down!! This little guy isnt extreme, I can already tell his legs are a little better and he can trot faster now

This guy is VERY long legged, his much is a big mare! He is already looking better
