Lightbulb Dog Show

Alrighty, well im sure most of you people on here know about agility, and how you need to have a registered dog to run in agility. Well, my friend and I really want to get into agility but our dogs are un-able to be registered. Soooo...i emailed her about an idea that i had. Here it goes-- all i said was that since we cant have our dogs registered, lets have our own dtring of dog shows!! I said we can make all the jumps, and A frames, etc. etc. and we can charge 5$ to get in. We can have awards, and drinks and food (human and dog drinks and food) and just have our own dog show! It will take a lot of time to get it ready, but i think in the end it would be very benaficial. A lot of our friends love and have a passion for agility, and showing and what not but are un able to because of the registering part. I suggested we could do it at our local track. We can talk to the high school and see if we can use it, of course we would clean up and "accidents" we would have to move everything and set it aside, but i think it would be a great idea!! We would ahve more than just agility, we could have a dog race, agility, a samll obediance thing (my dog would DEFANITLY lose at that!!) but it would be just a fun little show to get everyone out, and stuff like that!!

So what do you guys think??
IMO i think it would be great!! (can you tell?!)

That would be great! Awhile ago my grandma and I had the idea of a mixed dog show. Were mixes could enter! Sounds like a great idea! Good luck! If you can't have it at the school see if you can at a park.

Why can't you register?

I think it would be great to have something for all the mixed bred unregistered dogs. I would have continued dog agility with my dog it they offered agility for mixed, unregistered dogs. The fair grounds may also be a great place to hold a show.

We cant register because my dog Maverick, his parents are unknown, and dogs can only be registered if there parents are eligable to be registered.

Did you end up doing the dog show?? How did it work out??
See the reason why I want to ahve it at out local track, is because its fenced in, so jsut in case on of the dogs does try and escape (like my dog) they will be fenced in, but if we cant there will be food, so im sure they will eb wher the food is, we have a park that is really open, adn would be a good spot to play in!

The ILP stands for Indefinite Listing Privilege. It is for purebred dogs that can't be registered. With an ILP they can show in pretty much any AKC class except for conformation and they must be spayed or neutered. You should check it out!

You can run in NADAC and two other Agility formats with non-purebred dogs.

The ONLY venues that require a dog to be a registered Purebred are AKC and UKC venues.

BTW when you hold a performance only event, it will be called a TRIAL not a "SHOW" Dog SHOWS are for conformation... Dog TRIALS are for performance events just as an FYI
