| Senior Member+ | dog coming into heat after she's been fixed???
My lab has been fixed for... I think 3 years now. Anyway.. every once in awhile our two male dogs are all over her. It annoys me so bad, and she gets sooo mad. She growls at them and even snaps. Lol. They don't care though! Grrr. They follow her around all the time. We have to lock them in seprete rooms to give her a break sometimes. She stays at my feet and I try to run them off. Haha.. anyway. My point. Why does she still come into heat like that??

Is she bleeding any? If not, and you would notice it (watch her urinate), then she's probably not in heat. Your other dogs are probably just hor.ny. lol

No no, she don't actully come into heat. Lol. But it does happen like its timed. Like one week every couple of months. And every male dog around her is all over her. Its not just our two. Its so strange. And we have two other female dogs (also spayed) and the boys arn't all over them. Never.

Does it happen about every 7 months? If so, it is possible that you are dealing with ovarian remnant syndrome. This means that at the time of her spay procedure, the entire ovary was not removed. This can occur more frequently in dogs that were pregnant, in heat, very large, or fat at the time of their surgery. To eliminate this from occuring, she would need to under go surgery to remove the remainder of the ovarian tissue.
