Thumbs down Dog and cat fur on your jacket?

I just saw on TV (FOX News Channel) that there is proposed law going before congress to make all fur used on jackets/coats be labeled with the source/kind of fur.

Supposedly jackets from Burlington Coat Factory were tested and found to have cannine fur on them - the jackets were supposed to be imported from China.

There is little bit about me that can't help but wonder if this isn't some kind of propagada from PETA or one of the other fanatical/manical groups.

LOL, Rain. I just looked at my jacket and it's got a pretty high in dog hair content. PETA will be out to get me.

I wonder what PETA would say if they knew most dog/cat owners "accidently" flavor their dinners with dog/cat hair?

I don't really see anything wrong with labling the jackets with what type of fur is on it. Either you're going to buy it or not, right?

The fur is from the "Racoon Dog" JC Penny's had coats that had it... The Racoon Dog is a member of the Canid family, like the fox, or coyote, but they're NOT a 'pet breed' of dog, which is, of course what PETA would LOVE we ignorant Americans to envisions... THOUSANDS of "FIDOS" being offed for fur trim....

I have a Silver Fox Fur Coat, 100%.... I lOVE it, I inherited it from my grandmother and it is kept in a special storage box in refrigerated conditions to keep it from 'shedding' (as it is not over 60 yrs old!) I wear it for very special occassions

I wear leather shoes (riding boots are all leather generally) so it would be fairly hypocritical of me if I condemned other types of animal hide/fur wearing....

AND I've noticed MANY of the 'Animal Rights' types ALSO sport leather shoes.... Uh huh,

There was one of the crazy ones that used to work with me--she had a sticker on her car, which had LEATHER seats! Oh, how I longed to point that out to her..

If I go on a trip, I always sport cat or horse hair, even on clothes that are supposed to be clean and dressy! And I always have cat hair in my dryer's lint trap--I've often wondered if it would be faster and more effective to just stuff the cat in the dryer with an anti static sheet... Uh oh, here comes PETA!

Would it really be that horrible if it was made of dog fur? I mean my dog has plenty of it so if someone wants to make a coat out of it be my guest! I'd rather it be covering someone else besides me!
