Well, I don't own a mare but I voted anyway. My vet ultrasounded my gelding at my barn when he was lame.

Yes. My vet has an US machine and comes to me. Trip charge is $45 and US/Exam is $50.

All 3 vets I use have a portable US all three charge $40 for US's two charge $50 for a call charge the other is still $40 but I'm betting he goes up soon like the others did this month.

My last vet did have a portable Ultra Sound machine and bring it if needed, though he cared a bit extra for the service. He also had one at his office that you could haul to if you wanted to save a little money.

I was just thinking the two vets that charge $50 triup charge both travel about 20 miles. The one that still charges $40 goes almost 50 miles, think I'll be using him the most for the rest of the breeding season.

My farm call is $65 (I am 45 minutes away from her office). The U/S is $35 + $12 if the mare needs sedation (Dormosedan). My ladies are used to the drill so we sedate rarely.
