I do now. Up till Dr. Houtsma moved here we didn't. I would have to haul a LONG way to an equine vet. Shoot, any leg issues we hauled to TX and other stuff we hauled to OK. I REALLY appreciate that we now have such an excellent Equine vet in my backyard!

Mary, our vet has one and honestly we only have to haul 2 miles so I would rather skip the farm call charge. But he charges like $30.00 when he does use it.

I have two seperate vet's I have available to me and I live in middle of nowhere. Small rural towns with 500-700 population. Lots of farmland. Both vet's have ultrasound equipment. My regular vet will bring what is necessary. You can also haul in if you want to waive the $50 farm call to a $20 office call.

I don't mind posting it here cause he's a GREAT resource. His name is Dr. Greg Houtsma in Warrensburg, Missouri. Here is a link to his website:

I'll pm it to you also so you don't miss it.

My vet has one and he will come to my place, but for $65 for the farm call. I'll load up my horses and drive the 5 MILES to his practice.

There are many vets here and out of them all I only know of two with the US machine in their trucks. It's an expensive thing to have done, $65 farm call fee plus a $130 for the US, plus any sedative if the mare acts up. It's not cheaper to haul in to the clinic either the farm fee and clinic fee are the same depending on what zone you live in.

Yikes...

I have never hauled into the vets until recently, and that was only to save a bit of money. The vets come to our place daiyl and US when required. No sedatives nothing, and we get charged the basic $60 farm call, then $70 per US.
