Does your horse know their name?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

So, pretty self explainatory.

Jazzie does! Really well too. Now my last horse,Roxy, not so much. Just curious as to whose horses know their names!

If you call Lightning from the barn, he'll raise his head in the pasture but not for long.

Typically he'll go back to eating and pretend he doesn't know you. Except for my dad, who feeds him treats 24/7. He likes my dad because dad doesn't work him.

Felix knows his name like a dog. I call him anywhere in the pasture he comes as fast as possible.Even if he is a couple feet away when I call his name he'll jog to me.

Jackson will come to his name with a bit of persuasion. I'll call his name he'll look up and then go back to eating. I call it again he takes some steps and eats more lol. Eventually he comes at a brisk walk, lame trot, or pogo stick lope lol.

All too well.

Especially my Mom's horse. She lifts her head up and spots you from a mile a way if you call her name!

I put kinda but Ollie does respond pretty well He's never been a horse to come running to you, he likes his chill time, but he will perk his ears up and look when I call him and he will usually walk to me but sometimes he'll stop half way as if to say "Ok, I came this far not you meet me half way and do some work too!" lmao

He def. knows my voice though

Nope. My horse comes to me in the pasture if he sees me but he doesn't care how many times I call his name. Lol.

All of my mares, and fillies think they are named "pretty girl"... The rest know their "real" names....

Not really. My horse knows my voice, but not his name. Although the mare I lease knows her name very well!

All of ours know their name, however they also tend to respond when you call their buddy's name as well.
