Cutting and working cow horse pops up far faster then reining. That back ground is really heavy in cow horses.

However that is not to say that she won't be good at reining since both are really athletic disciplines. she has the bloodlines to be a performance horse of some type.

Im with Top Dun, sounds more Cow-type, and its also "older" bloodlines, which is fine, just not very "modern."
Docs Oak, Docs Perscription, Peponita, & Poco Tivio are all founders of Cutting, and Hollywood Gold of Reining, of course they do mix up across disiplines.
I have a reining horse, who most would scream "cutting" when looking at his pedigree, but he never was real motivated when it came to cattle (tried with a pro trainer for 11 months!), and reining came to him as a breeze!

Add another one to the RCH or cutting category. But, with the Hollywood in there you've got something that screams reining. Give it a go anyway, only real way to find out, and Good Luck

But that is a 1940's Hollywood horse not a more recent 1980's reining Hollywood horse. Although that same horse is only two generations back in Hollywood dun It's pedigree. But in this pedigree, being 5 generations back may not have as big an impact on the over all pedigree as in Hollywood Dun it's pedigree.

Overall the pedigree is by far and large a performance type pedigree and as such the filly should do at least OK in either cow events or reining depending on temperment and conformation. so I don't see any bloodline based reason why you should not try reining.

Yes TD - it is the "old" Hollywood, but it's still the Hollywood who has a very major influence in Reining horses today. Some things from some lines, even way back there, make it though to todays horses. Just because it's off the papers and not seen when looking at the AQHA papers in hand, does not mean it doesn't have an influence.

Two Eyed Jack is usually nowhere on my horses AQHA papers on our younger horses. I have to go back now to find him, however, he still strongly influences our Ranch horses. You can "see" and "feel" the TEJ in them, no matter how far out he is. Same with a lot of the Hollywood horses that did not come through the same lines as Hollywood Dun It. Look beyond the front page and some of those lines transition down to the horse standing before you anyway.

Like I said, the only way to know for sure is to try it. And again, Good Luck.

Don't forget it's more about a horses talent as well as that of the person training them than it is with their breeding. Being cowy is one thing, the ability to follow direction and be easily trained to do any event is something else. John Slack's trained some Arabians that can slide and spin as well as some good reining QH on an NRHA level.
