In Western Pleasure??? I totally disagree. First off, you can not use a tie down in WP, thats the whole point of western pleasure. Nylon is a big no-no in the show ring, even in open shows.....at least around here.......

She was asking about WP, right????

They don't allow synthetic SADDLES in any event (the ApHC that is). The saddle has to be all leather, though nylon off billets or latigos are allowed, as are synthetic cinches.

I showed little county shows, but last year i used a wintec western. Now i have a leather one, but no one cared. I dont know what type of shows you are going to but if it is within your budget i would go for a leather saddle. For gaming, most people have leather saddles, and nylon tie-downs, bridles, and breastplates
