She may be well trained, but noone in thier right mind buys a horse that looks sore. She may only need shoes in front, or just a couple weeks of exersize to loosen up so that she doesn't look like she is in Pain.

If she were NOT sore or stiff, based on your vids I would pay max of
1500-2000 if she is under 12 years, older and I would pay 1000-1500. Over 16 and I wouldn't give more than 1000. I would try to find one with better confo than this one at the same price first though. But that is what horses like this run in my area.

You ask if she looks well trained.

Well, for what?

She looks pretty quiet most of the time in the video. Though the rider TORQUES the head in the neck rein, which isn't the proper way to neck rein, but is pretty standard for your back yard trained rider.

The rider is riding the face, not the body in the turns and such.

Those front feet kept catching my eyes. Do you have a standing picture? I think, if my eyes are seeing right, that the horse's hooves need some serious work or she is club footed in the front, giving her the apperance of being "STIFF" because of the hooves.

NM, the above, it looks as though they trimmed ALL of the feet that way when I watch the walk.

That will definitly cause the STIFF look about her. A good standing confo pic will help decide if the feet might be the cause of the movements.

She also looks to be a bit down hill. Which can also contribute to the movement issues we are seeing.

yep, video must be pretty bad if it looks like I am yanking on her. She is fairly light mouthed and I am not a heavy handed person. I use more leg then rien.

Back Yard trainer, ha, I take in horses for training... oh man, didn't realize I looked that bad on there ... yep, I think I will have to make a different video...

How ever this good to know, now I know what people are thinking when see it.

here is a conformation pic, video..

yeah, I am just wondering for I did send these 2 videos to a college that had equine classes to see if they would want to use her as a loaner horse for fall 06 to spring 07 and then are wanting me to haul her to the school to have her evaluted. Only bad thing is that is a pain to have to take her up there for an eval. Wouldn't be so bad if they decide they could use that I could just leave her there but then in the fall I would have haul her back up there. The school is 70 miles from me. I may ask if they could evual in aug and then it wouldn't be so bad. At least then I can leave her there if they want her and I wouldn't have to haul her twice.

I feel she would benefit the equine classes for she does horsemanship manuvers, does lead changes, side pass, does real well in trail class, does lead changes, does hunter hack, has driven a cart, does canter depart from walk and standstill. She would be a good teacher and she isn't gonna get upset if they cue her wrong.

Blister makes good points.

I looked at the confo vid again. She does have good points...and they are seperated by a lot of back. I like her neck set and her hind end is alright. However, the angle on that LF hoof looks slightly incorrect. I will agree with Blister here on the possible club, but it is VERY hard to tell such things from a vid or pic. The way she moves looks like she Might* be landing toe first to avoid heel pain.

If I were you I would get the farrier out. Then shoot another video. If she is as quiet and willing as you say she should be fine for what you are thinking to use her for, AFTER the problems are addressed. I'm sure you would want the horse to go to school in the best shape.

Ugh, I don't like the rider in the first video.

Her conformation is decent but I don't like how she moves under saddle. The most I'd pay for her is $2500. But that's if she's on the younger side.

Sorry Nd Deb, didn't even put two and two together and realize it was your horse directly.

Sorry!
