Not to be rude but if you cannot afford the house payment how can you afford to haul them to an auction? I do not know many that will go get a horse and haul it to an auction for someone they do not know. Sorry I have neighbors that should not own a horse and have no truck, no trailer, no real fence or feed. They did just what you have... moved and left the horses.

To be honest, they probably left these horses in as good a place as could be. She keeps them long enough to see what they're like and then gives them to good homes.

I've done it several times for people that have horses they no longer wanted. I'd do it again if someone asked.

IF someone asked is the big thing. People are too proud. They would rather secretively put their horse in someone's property than post it for free or ask for some help in hauling. It is a lot to go through when you're losing your house and your whole life is up in shambles, there are too few who would actually ask for help. I know if my mother had to give up her property I have a good friend who would be more than happy to let us turn the horses out in the pasture. All horse people need to expect the worst so that we are ready and so we can be fair to our horses.

Well all I can tell you is that many of the places that you can haul your horse to ride now check you in and check you out. You cannot leave with less horses than you brought in.
