It looks to be in great shape to have just been turned loose.

I bet someone is crying , somewhere .

Don't really know, but I received an answer back this morning that no one has come forward to claim him so I am beginning to wonder if someone didn't have to move and just turned him loose. I guess if anyone is interested they should probably call the number on the flyer (I am assuming that is the police department's number) to see what rescue or adoption program he is with.

It is very sad in this area, some people are having to move due to job loss and also running out of unemployment. Craig's List is starting to get the "free to good home ads" from that and people who just can't afford to buy the hay.

It's hanneing all over. My girlfriend has recieved 5 'annonamous donations' of horses. 2 in her horse trailer at an auction, 2 turned loose in her back pasture and one in a stall in her barn, go figure. Needless to say, her home is quite secluded. You can get to the back of the place from an old dirt road that is seldom used. The one in the barn was a shock though. She has 6 of her own, so she gives them to good folks that she knows will care for them after a search for owners through legal avenues. They have all been good horses, so what's the deal?

When you do not have a job and no place to live because you have an eviction notice. There has been a flier at the local feed store for weeks offering the horse for free and no one takes it. There is no local sale as the sale barn shut down weeks ago... Where are you going to take your horse?

There are 3 local auction places around here, that's the part I don't understand. I'm not trying to be mean, but even evictions don't happen over night. To be honest, they probably left these horses in as good a place as could be. She keeps them long enough to see what they're like and then gives them to good homes.

Wow, he really is gorgeous. Hope his owners find him, or if he was dumped, hope someone will give him a good home.

I'LL TAKE HIM! I loooove bay paints, they're my favorite, lol. I sure hope he's just "missing" and not turned loose. It hasn't really happened here yet and I check my local CL religiously. There are maybe 2-3 free horses in our CL weekly, which isn't bad. Just one up today, but it wasn't because of money, but because kids went off to the real world and left the horses behind to their non-horsey parents.

I have a bay paint you can have ! LOL

I upgraded her from a crazy lazy, she has a history of neglect in her last 2 homes, and no formal training. Leads ties and trailers great though. Lunges and accepts saddle. 5-6 years old, one blue eye. $250 and shes yours LOL
