| Senior Member+ | Does anyone know anything about Hilason saddles? Treeless Sport Saddles - HILASON Saddles & Tack Company Houston, TX 1-888-HILASON I was specifically looking at their sidesaddles. But they seem to be "too-good-to-be-true" prices.

I looked into them a while back and didn't hear anything good. One thing I heard is that they tend to dig into the horse at the back of the saddle. Too bad, because Bob Marshall is so much more $$ if you want to go treeless.

RUN! Run far far away... They are made using imported materials from Pakistan (perhaps India) and are NOT well made. I have heard of a couple of people being okay with the saddle from them, but you get what you pay for... You're much better off finding a used Bob Marshall or Barefoot saddle. Post a "wanted" message in this group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/treelesssaddles/ There are always members with used saddles in there. Also check the classifieds at http://www.endurance.net

Thank you for the feedback. That was my hunch. I'm actually not looking for a treeless saddle...I'm looking at sidesaddles, and Hilason has a line of sidesaddles (with tree) that are pretty cheaply priced. But, cheaply constructed, too it seems.

Actually I own a hilason, as does my mom and hubby. we love them. the thing with most people is they are expecting the same par saddle as a bob marshall. well you are not paying 1200 so of course it's not going to have butter soft leather etc. I always use a good pad, have had mine over two years and it's been in rain, dust , thrown around, once stomped on etc. not even a scratch. I also have a pink suede seat and the dye stayed and didn't stain even when I left it in the rain! I really like mine and use it daily and have never had a problem
