Thumbs down Does anyone know anything about concussions?

So today I was riding Patton, and we were doing some jumping. Not very high..the jump was probably a little less than 2 ft. She was doing fine, but the 3rd time we went over it she hesitated and launched over it and half tripped when she came down (at least that's what it felt like). I lost my balance and flew off. I fell on my back and my head hit the ground super hard. Thank God I was wearing a helmet, and Patton was fine. My head was throbbing and my neck and back hurt a little, but nothing major. My head has continued to hurt all day. I've also been super tired and nauseous on and off. My head is still throbbing. My parents didn't take me to the doctor cause they figured I might have a mild concussion and the doctor couldn't do anything. This happened at like 1:00 this afternoon. If I do have a concussion will I be alright to sleep tonight? Some people have told me you just need to stay awake for a few hours, and others have told me 24 hours. I don't really know what to do, and I regret not going to the doctors earlier. Does it sound like I really do have a concussion?

You dont need to play around with a bump on the head. Tell your parents to take you.

If you're tired and nauseous, that sounds like concussion symptoms to me. (My best friend had one last summer after making attempting to stop a softball with her head!)

Get it checked out. It's not something to mess around with.

thanks guys. my parents still aren't really worried about it and aren't taking me anywhere tonight. I'm sure if it's worse or just as bad tomorrow they will, or I'll demand to go. I'm just worried about what I should do tonight.

Agreed. It may not seem like much, but this is NOT SOMETHING TO MESS AROUND WITH.

Get checked out. NOW.
