Question Does anyone know a BAREFOOT trimmer (in Canada)

Okay i just wondered if anyone knew a person called Lisa Huhn?

she is a 'professional' barefoot trimmer, she doesnt have any qualifications though, just 6 years of research under her belt.

She gives out clinics, and travels around canada. She is situated now near Kemptville.

I have heard many good things about her, but from only a few people, i havent heard anything negative though.

i just wondered if anyone knows her????

she goes by the name BETAMAX

i am just trying to get other people's opinions about her because she is trimming my horse who has a crack in his foot and she told me to take the shoe off. the shoe is off now.

She looks like a strausser trimmer to me. I don't agree with them at all. Some ideas, yes. But i dunno. I haven't seen anything but negitive affects from that type of trimming. We need some hoof experts on this thread Lol

*goes and looks for some*

I do not know her personally....but have had many online discussions with her. She does not subscribe to Strasser protocols....she has her own method. She is simply a barefoot trimmer. All I can say is that "in theory" she is knowledgeable and has done a good bit of research to support her ideas. However, like most barefoot trimmers she subscribes to the "shoes are evil" theories and believes that ALL horse can and should be barefoot. So far, I have not seen any examples of her work to comment on. Someof the images on her website appear to have been altered so that certain areas are not clear enough to determin if the trim is accomplishing its goals.

I trim my own horses feet and they both have been barefoot for the last 8 years. I have never had a problem with them and their hooves are healthy, strong w/ no cracks and great balance and angle. I only once had my Arab shod to see if it could help with issues I had with his gaits but it just caused him to over-reach. He is now happily barefoot again and we are working on fitness for gaits.
