Smile Does anybody else have a horse that does NOT like to be groomed?

Isis doesn't hate being groomed. She doesn't act like she's in pain or tickled, but she just acts like it's such an irritating, time wasting thing to do. She fidgets and complains in the horsey sort of way whenever I try to groom her! It's sort of irritating. I know I should work on it to get her to have a better attitude but I havn't had time. She's not bad, she stands mostly still, she's just like a fidgity little girl getting her hair brushed when she doesn't want it to be! Does anybody else have a horse that just doesn't like having to wait to be groomed?

Oh yes! My boy gets soo mad when I have to literally try and scrape the mud off of him. I think he just loves to be a mess. He only likes the soft brush. He gets ticked when I use the stiff or curry on him. He will step side to side and paw when I use those two but stand like an angel for the soft.
LOL hes a goof.

I LOVE winter though when it is cold and he is clean 24/7 from having his blanket on

Tontos like that, but really only if i groom him hard. He seems to have really sensitive skin. Its funny cause he LOVES the underside of his neck to be groomed hard, but anywhere else he tend to be like you said" a kid getting their har brushed when they dont want to" Hes HORRIBLE about his legs too. he constantly lifts them up, so ive restored to grooming his legs even if they are held up. lol. i know how you feel :0)

No , Xiphias loves to be groomed, but I have groomed on a tb training farm, they had a filly who was horrid to groom, she would try to bite and kick you the whole time that you were trying to get her clean enough to tack up, she was a major pain in the rear to work on....Cathy

*raises hand* Isabel is very sensitive, but because of that doesn't roll, so she usually pretty clean. She loves her butt to be curried and if you brush her face though, but everywhere else gets the evil eye!

Regal doesn't like it in the summer time, I think it irritates his skin having his curls brushed down. But he doesn't seem to mind lately, I think his coat's so thick he can't even feel it. Ebony lurves being brushed.

Star hates being groomed also! I hate it! She doesn't stand still, she paws, she even sometimes tries to bite and kick me. But Buckwheat would stand all day and be groomed!! he loves it!

I wouldn't say she hates it but she definately "puts up with it" She absoutely hates it when I try to groom her when she's eating. I get all sorts of nasty looks and barred teeth threatening me lol

It's quite funny because she'd never actually do anything :P

Maverick isn't too keen on being groomed, He'll stand for it but if I take to long or have to get someing thing he gets annoyed. He give me a LOOK and then snorts like a deer. Sometimes he shakes his head at me too!! He also ALWAYS wants to see what is going on behind him. nothing.. It's usually just me and him in the barn.

Dude on the otherhand loves it, he leans into me, closes his eyes and just about falls asleep!
