What do you think of these three APHA studs? *UPDATE: Mare pics and foal use added*

A friend asked me to ask around here and see what everyone thought of these three studs...she's narrowed her search down to these three and is looking for as many opinions as she can get, especially about what their offspring turn out like, and what they seem to pass on/not pass on to their offspring

Quanah Bar (Thundercloud Paints-Quanah Bar, APHA / PtHA*Sorrel Tobiano Stallion)
Midway Jet Pal (Midway Jet Pal)
Designated Prints (Designated Prints)

What is she looking to do with the foal? The first two are pretty different from the last.

I'm not sure...forgot to ask LOL. I would guess low-level western pleasure and trail riding, but I'll ask her

None of them have really done anything themselves. All that is listed is what their offspring are doing, but going off of that, I like the second one. He seems to have more offspring doing more than the other two. I have looked at Midway Jet Pal myself and liked him. The last one is a BIG horse, 16.3 and what kind of injury did he have?

I find it funny how so many breeders say that about studs that they have up for breeding but have done nothing(Not saying it it the case here). I have just seen that quite a bit after looking at many studs online. Maybe it is just me Hum, makes you wonder if there really is an injury or if some people just didn't want to take the time to train the horse but are selling the breeding based on what he looks like, not what he can do.

Good luck with her decision!

Again I would like to know what she wants to do with the foal and what the mare looks like and what the mare has done. But, as a personal preference I like the 3rd one best then 2 then 1. But thats jmo

Quanah Bar (Thundercloud Paints-Quanah Bar, APHA / PtHA*Sorrel Tobiano Stallion)
Midway Jet Pal (Midway Jet Pal)
Designated Prints (Designated Prints
Don't like the fact that Quanah Bar doesn't have any photos of him straight on from any side. "In 1997 at the Colorado Horse Expo he was critiqued by a Colorado State University Equine Professor in a conformation class and was the only one out of 8 horses with NO conformation faults", if that's the case then why don't we see those good conformation photos showing us this? I'd want to see better photos of him. Foals don't scream run away. Nice foundation breeding though.

Midway Jet Pal looks to be quite nice for a Homozygous Tobi. He's got a purdy head too. I'd again like to see better photos of him. The one almost profile shot makes him look quite hip high. He's got some foals producing, so if showing is possible, then that's certainly something to look at (at least with a stallion that's his age).

Designated Prints doesn't do a lot for me. Neck's flabby, light in the hip compared to his chest and barrel. Foals are cute. From a quick glance I don't see anything that shows him stamping his get, but that is just from a quick look at them.

Now Peggy, they're all completely different from each other other than the tobi part. Yes, we're booking for the 08 season now.
