Argentine snaffle with a copper roller. It is a transition bit from a snaffle to a curb...it can be used as either (one set of reins at the snaffle loop or one set of reins at the curb loop) or with two reins if it is being used for transition.

i have seen the pelhams-- but the way that the roller is joined to the mouth piece is different... mine is just the flat copper- the joined section is inside the copper mouth piece, so you dont see the round pieces at all... i dont know if that would make a differnce of the feel of it in his mouth.. |

Yup, yours is hinged instead of linked like most bits are. I know I've seen them before online, but can't find them for the life of me now. I'm only finding kimberwickes with the hinged mouthpiece.

Are you using it as a curb bit or a snaffle bit?? That has a lot to do with how the bit functions and how he likes it...

The difference in leverage is vast (to me) from a kimberwicke to an argentine snaffle. The length of the shank is at least an inch or two.
