I generally braid myself, occasionally I will pay someone, and sometimes I go to shows where I don't braid.

Me and/or my mom do the braiding/banding on ours. We've never paid someone, but it's been tempting!!

I almost always do it myself, but there has been times when say, the trainer does it at a big show or whatever. so i picked the second option

I've never had a need to braid a horses mane but I braid twine strings together to make really nice lead ropes. I learned to braid when my girls were kids and they wanted their hair put in pigtails.

I learned to braid my own horse to save money. All of the girls at my barn have decided to braid for all of our local shows, so everyone is getting a lot of practice. I have to admit, though, that the ones at the shows done by the professional braiders are always VERY nice looking.

I braid my own horse for shows, and I love doing it! There are so many types of braids that are fun to do. I also like to braid my horse every once in a while at the barn just to make him look nice

I braid myself...not because I take any joy in it and how time consuming it is and how much finesse it takes...but because I can't afford to have someone else do it for me LOL. If I could afford it, I would DEFINITELY have someone else do it, mostly because without a bajillion hours, I just can't do very good braids. They aren't super tight or spaced evenly apart and I am SO finicky about how my horse's overall appearance is.

I've braided my boy by myself except the first time when I learned how. My parents would probably get a little crabby if I had someone else do it

I show in one day shows Western and English, so I don't have time to braid and then band. So most of the time, I just band.
