That's what I thought it was...why wouldn't you just um...train the horse? I mean, I'm for twitching when a horse is being violent when say giving shots, etc., but why would anyone want to use this thing for riding?

I'd rather work with my horse until they were calm while doing this, than use this "product", but that's just me.

I never realized just how much stuff I would learn here, but wow, lol.

Hm, how old do you guys consider a "yearling". I've always thought of it as 1-2, but do you guys just think of it as 1 year old?

Just remember that TBs ARE broke as long yearlings. In order to get ready for the track as 2 year olds they are broke about Aug to Dec the year prior ( as yearlings) depending on month of birth. Whether I agree with it or not is irrelevant..it happens and the racing industry will not change.

Yes but thats one type of breed! He's tlaking about spreading it to all breeds. I understand perfectly why they would train the TB's like that. But again ONE breed! Lets not spread it even more.
