If I hear any more members insulting each other, espeically new members whether you agree with them or not I am going to lock this thread, everyone is entitled to thier opinions without being personally attacked.

Also HGS will not tolerate users that join strickly to bash another user.

I agree DL. I personally would use this device (if it does what is stated) I would have it handy for those that need their feet trimmed NOW. Today.
Not when I can gentle it enough to stand still for the ferrier. Or giving a shot and the animal needs it now.
Hubby buys several animals. Sometimes I feel like a rescue farm. These animals are good horses but have not been handled much. That in my opinion would be its purpose.
The product is there.... its the delivery that has alot up in arms.

Don't look at this as a training method then, what title could this come under ?

These are thoroghbreds that have to bee started as yearling or there are no races for them later...time is not a luxury I have.

Voice your opinion to the racing world because they all start yearlings off early to chase the BIG money!!

Its not my system, my job is to break them and have them racing in 6 months...sad but money rules everything...

I see what you are saying here Peg, but when I read the methodology it seemed to suggest that one needs to get a halter or bridle on. This suggests the horse can be caught and managed at least to some extent.

If I had a horse who I could catch and get a halter on I think I would look at putting it in a quiet box and using something like "sedagel" in a feed a couple of hours before a farrier or vet arrived to settle the nerves a bit if it was necessary.

I have never been in the positon where I have had an emergency with unmanageable horse however - so maybe my view on this would be different if I was ever in that position

I have been an emergency situation with a horse that was unmanagable. In that situation, I think that this method would be fine.

However, I do not think that this method can replace tried and true training. I have started, taught basics and given enough finishing to youngsters that have won shows in six months time.

To me, sixth months time is plenty of time to teach a horse enough that you could easily turn them over to be raced. No gadgets needed.

Actually I have been thinking more about this and I have just realised there is a situation whre it could be useful.

My friend has an ex racehorse. She is a "spanner" - the horse not my friend - lol

This horse just loses the plot sometimes - she freezes then suddenly she launches herself into the air and lets loose - this happens with no pattern to it

Maybe this method, if it worked (not full tap obviously) could be of use in extreme cases like this. The horse is dangerous if out on the road when she does this....

Hmmm ... maybe I was too quick to dismiss it - it could have some uses

I will think more on this

At the moment there is nothing to buy, it at the site to view for free. I just left some stuff off.

You can use your own bridle,

Just turn your horse's head around and wait..thats all
