Talking Dinah and I went XC Schooling! LOTS of pics..

Wow, it feels like a loooong time since I've made a thread in this section...

So yesterday, me and Dinah went XC'ing. First I took a friend's 5 y/o around, and then I went back with Dinah. It was great fun. No pics of the 5 y/o as Mum was riding at the time I rode him.

She was a very good girl. You will notice in the pics, she is lazy with her front legs unless the jumps are big And I am working on an automatic release... honest...

So without further ado... here is Dinah.

Aint she a cutie!

I think this one is possibly my favourite...

Then we went down to the river to cool off and I took her saddle off and rode around bareback for a while.

and my favourite bareback one...

enjoy

She is a very round jumper! And when she picks those knees up she's downright flashy

Looks like a GREAT time! I need to get out and school XC more often.

Aww, you guys look great together! Your horse is gorgeous! I love the way you're smiling in almost every photo! I pull some pretty weird facial expressions when I jump haha. Looks like you guys had fun. I've always wanted to go to an xc course and jump around!

Idlewild, she is quite the jumper when she wants to be. I would event her, but she has a fear of ditches and enjoys throwing me over her head in showjumping.. the brat..
I don't know if you can tell in the pics but she has a slight sway back that is slowly getting worse as she gets older (and she's only 10!) so she sometimes finds it difficult to really round up over jumps as well as engaging from behind. I am so proud that she manages it at all, she tries so hard to please

shyxpony I am lucky, I seem to do it instinctively - my friend pulls the weirdest expressions though, I almost kill myself laughing when I zoom in on her face on photos (I love doing that...). She has this habit of sticking her tongue right out and curling it up!

Great pictures. I know nothing about jumping.
I do know when I see a happy horse and rider. It looks like you both had a great time.
Thanks for sharing.
