Different Kinds of Braids for Mane & Tails

Does anyone have pictures, instructions, etc. for different kinds of braids for a horse's mane and tail? I am just interested in what the options are basically .

Just do a search on this forum for braids and you will find lots of information as well as photos and links.

Plus you can GOOGLE it and find them too!

http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horse_grooming_tips-3.htm
http://www.raspberryridge.com/Kids-Mane%20Care.htm

This is my pony Merrylegs, I dont know what kind of braid you would call it, but I think its allowed in the dressage ring. I use it in the summer to keep her neck cool: (Sorry she looks like such a beast in these pics lol, it was winter and she was FAT) Ill try to get some new pics of a better braid today.

That's called a running braid. I do it on Meteor's mane every so often, too, as his is a tad on the long side.

Some of us also call it a French Braid...French Braided Mane.

Here is another braiding style on an Andalusian. The mane is done just like the forlock...down the center of the mane along the crest.

Wow, that is a really neat braid! Looks like a French braid for a human almost. Do you know where you can get instructions on how to do this type of braid?
