Difference between no turn bell boots an "normal" bell boots

I need new bell boots for my horse, so i have a look at the next dealer to find out about some new. There were a lot of bell boots and i donīt know which one i should buy. My old one are simply rubber bell boots. Now iīve saw no turn bell boots. Whats the advantage of no turn bell boots compared to rubber bell boots?

Thanks for answering!
Sonne

Ok. My old one were also ok, but iīm wondering whats the difference between them and no turn bell boots. Are they better than rubber bell boots? If it so, then i wonder why.

IMHO, they are way better than the regular rubber bell boots. No turn bell boots have a soft foamy notch that fits in between the celft? (for lack of a better word, no clue what it's called) of the horses pastern or foot? and keeps the velcro to the front of the foot. They're a lot safer and will hold its position better.

No turn bell boots have a special little "bump" type thing that fits right in the middle of the bulb of the heel, therefore keeping it in place. Regular rubber bell boots don't have this and can turn when on, a potential cause of rubbing on their fetlock.

No-turns:

See the "bump" on the bottom picture?

I use the no-turns because they stay in place much better than rubber bell boots.

I use no turn bell boots. They do really stay in place well and they seem to fit their feet abit better. And they also seem to have much more padding than the regular rubber bell boots.

I have these ones in pink and I love them. They have a hard outer shell and nice soft padding inside

Personally, I don't like the no turns. The "protective" knob in the back fits into the soft spot above the hoof, and if a horse hits himself with enough force, he can push that knob right into that soft spot. I've seen too many horses with nerve damage or severe bruising from it. My first choice is petal boots, then heavy rubber bells with velcro closures.

I have different types, no real preference for one over the other. I got my ballistic no-turns (made with ballistic material) for free with my SMBs. I have a pair of heavy rubber pull-ons, a pair of thin rubber pull-ons, and a pair of PVC ones with velcro. It pretty much just depends on what I feel like using that day.
