Devon - Appropriate Clothing? I'm so clueless.

I think I am going to Devon Horsehow with Christina and her parents to take pictures. Her parents mentioned that you have to dress nicely (i.e., not in my usual horse show clothes, usually jeans and a sweatshirt) BUT, I have virtually no nice dress pants, blouses etc. Christina's dad said for kids it's usually ok to be in jeans, but I also don't want to be the only person in jeans. For watching & helping out @ Devon, what is considered appropriate? I heard it was supposed to be hot this weekend. Would it be inappropriate to wear a nice looking tank with a pair of dressy-ish pants?

I am so new to this. And, I need to figure it out by Thursday at the latest. I might try to get out to look tonight. I'm in trouble.

Can anyone possibly help me out, & if possible, make a list of clothing to bring? I'm ok with other categories, but with bottoms, tops, and shoes, I'm clueless.

Would I wear sneakers? Or paddock boots. I'm so lost!

Thank you SO much.

You will be fine!
These days you see EVERYTHING at Devon..
From Suits and Ascot worthy hats..
Usally on the Lead Line Moms..
To shorts and tee's..

I would get a nice pair or khakis..
Even Capri length will do..
And a nice T, I would not wear
A tank top, but thats just me..
And I'm old .

Depending on where she is stableing,
Make sure you have shoes that won't kill
You on ! Cute flats or sandels are fine in
The Grand Stands, but your going to be walking
Quite a bit ..Plus you can step in ANYthing,
From a hot dog to a road apple.
Besides you could get stepped on, as well.
I would suggest a hat, You don't have to
Go Brittish Royal Family, a baseball hat will do..
There is very little shade in the rings during the day ,
Or around them...

Be comfy and neat, plan for heat and sun..
There are plenty of vendors around as well
To take care of both hunger and thrist..

ENJOY yourself!
Devon is a blast..
Remember there is a Faire going on,
Right there on the Show Grounds..
Have fun!
Paula

So as a list:

Dress shirts/blouses
t-shirts/polos
khaki/black dressy pants or capris
jeans..(just in case)
toiletries..
pjs,
etc.etc.

Anything else?

I'm thinking bring sneakers, but wear mainly dressy sandal things - & to bring one of the oversized purses, so I can fit everything. haha

I'm an overpacker, times 100, so I have to make lists so I don't forget things, and have everything I need, aka not everything I own.

A girl at my stable is going as a groom, she's SO excited. Just to add/echo what paula said, They told her to pack nice jeans (not your ripped up stained barn jeans. ) and polo shirt type tops. They said the dress code had been dropped a notch recently.

Have fun! I'd love to go someday!
