buck1173, thanks for that. I did have a friend who is barefoot trimmer demonstrate for me, then come out another time and she did a foot and I did a foot, but I think I need a refresher. Plowing on through JB. It's a lot of technical stuff that is geared, I think, as buck1173 said, to someone who has a bit mroe familiarity with terms, anatomy, etc. I am waiting for it to click... I may skip to the end and watch a couple, then come back to where I was. Right now it's just a bunch of jargon, and I need to see.

I think if you have your friend come back out after you've seen and digested some of the video stuff it will start making a LOT more sense I think Pete doesn't want people skipping to the "fun stuff" because to just do that and then try to go trim wouldn't necessarily be a good thing for the horse. But for what you're needing, there is nothing wrong at all Buck, I think our last 2 posts were right on top of each other

haha, JB, yep. Yeah, Suzannah, if I hadn't had 2 4 hour lessons freshly under my belt when I got Pete's series, I woudn't have had the first clue on what he was talking about. If you haven't seen this website, try this: http://www.barefoothorse.com/ the "do trim" section shows before & after trimming. Marjorie Smith actually lives in my neck of the woods (near Phili) and it was her I contacted when I wanted to start trimming myself... she doesn't teach, trim or train anymore, she's retired, but she will do phone, video and email consultations, and she's happy to recommend someone in your area that can help. She put me in touch with a friend of hers that got me started. Also look here if you haven't yet: http://www.ironfreehoof.com/ there is a very very very indepth photo series of before & after and how to actually trim. This is tough stuff going it alone though... like learning how to cook just by following a book... I always failed at my dark roux until I actually saw it done on TV... trimming is just one of those things... good luck
