Death of a Family Friend

I just found out that yesterday a very good friend of the family passed away. She was suffering from cancer in over 50% of her body. Although her death was forseen it still comes as a shock and is very hard to comprehend.

Her son was on my brothers hockey team for the last 2-3 years and we have all spent countless winter days and weekends in hotels together. The time spent with her is now ever so precious and I selfishly wish there had been more and that there could be more to come. April 19th a benefit was thrown for her and we raised over $5000 I think. Everyone was there supporting her and it was a hard night for me and the parents who had spent so much time with Cheryl. Reality hit me that night and I finally realized Cheryl was going to die because of the cancer. Still, I pushed the thought aside and it has come to hurt me. She was always in high spirits and so fun to be around. Its so hard to think we wont share any times like that again. Her visitation is tomorrow and her funeral Friday...things are gonna be rough.

I'm very sorry. At least now you know her health is fully restored and the cancer is forever gone... she now is with the best Healer.
Her family and friends are in my prayers.
