I have been following this story for awhile, even before I became a member here...it absolutely sickens me that they even have to waste time on this woman!

How much more suffering needs to be "pictured" before they effectively put a stop to her nastiness, I cant even imagine how hard the rescue is working to help these horses with the challenges that lie ahead for them.

I appreciate you all keeping this thread updated since I dont live in the area .

Thank you

I agree, Shenanigans. It is sickening and many of us have had to waste countless hours trying to prove that she is neglectful and inadequate. How could no one see this for so long?

Bumping up. Can't believe all of this; can you keep updating? I don't live in the PNW anymore and I want to know it has a "happy" ending.

this was on craigslist in seattle today- looks like people are spreading the word to stop others from adopting to her.

Read the story on the Pasado's site, it is really well done!

Don't give or sell a horse to Dean Soloman, owner of Pacific Equestrian Center (who changes the name of her rescue every few months to avoid being caught). She was charged with Animal Cruelty in KIng County Courts and somehow still manages to fool some people...

I saw a great article online at: http://www.pasadosafehaven.org/HOMEPAGE/5_03_08/FALL_PEC.htm that tells all about it.

She is not allowed to get any more horses. If you have accidentally given her one, let Animal Control know and they will help you. She is not an expert, not an animal lover- she is a charged hoarder... do you know what it takes to get charged with Animal Cruelty? A LOT! Think of all the evidence the prosecutor's didn't find.

This isn't slander- it is FACTS AND LEGAL KING COUNTY PUBLIC RECORD. Don't let any more horses go abused.

Please don't flag- this woman has been collecting animals and failing to care for them for over 15 years- put a stop to this!

Here is a picture of her from an online blog (good job Fugly) and a photo of the conditions she expects horses to live in.

Very nice! It should be listed on Craigs list weekly in order to continue and warn people.

I agree- rumor had it that she had gotten rid of some horses or reduced her herd but I am guessing they are hiding out somewhere, she has access to a lot of resources.

We still have one gelding (Melvin) that we don't know if he'll make it, he has put on some weight but has neurological issues and was neglected for so long, we don't know if he'll ever recover

You have no idea how upsetting that is especially knowing he was a normal healthy horse when he arrived at her place!!!! I saw this for my own eyes! Jingles for Melvin I really hope he is able to pull through even if he is just a pasture pet.

Are there anymore updates on this situation? I have my own opinions and comments to make, but I've been accused of being "snippy", so I'll keep my thoughts to myself, so as not to offend the one doing the accusing. BUT.......I would like to see justice done, for those horses, and I would like to hear how the trial, ect., is going.

Rumor has it there is a September court date- has anyone else heard this?

Good news on Melvin, he seems to have turned a corner. He is still pretty stiff but he does a bit of trotting around (especially at dinner time) and has really come out of his shell. I adore him.

as a reminder, here he was when we got him:

and here he is now. Not perfect mind you, but for a horse many thought could not be saved, we are SO glad to see a sparkle in his eyes and a look that says he wants to live.

It was miserably rainy, just so you know why he's standing on mud.

He looks wonderful!!! I really have seen a change in him from when I was out there last week as oppose to a month ago. I am so Happy for him. I sure hope he continues to improve month after month. I would love to foster him if I could.
