Well I would not say she will get off scott free if convicted but jail time is highly doubtful. Let's face it, people with even larger criminal charges often don't spend much if any time in jail, one of the reasons being is that the jails are full

Personally I hope the LADEN Her with a TON of Community Service Hours and make it CRUDDY ICKY NASTY work, as in cleaning up other people's waste, etc!!!

I figure since she's broke to begin with, assesing a fine won't do much as she'll never pay it but if they nail her HARD with Community Service and she does not show up for it, THEN they can possibly toss her in jail for non-compliance.

And I am sure there is nothing in writing saying she can't have horses- that is my question- why don't they outlaw having animals once you are charged. or at least outlaw aquiring more animals. state law needs to be changed so AC can enforce it.

I think the problem is that Innocent people DO sometimes get Charged with things and then later proven innocent, so perhaps that has something to do with it... Allegedly in this country we are innocent until proven guilty and since a charge is for simple purposes an allegation, it's not a proven fact of guilt so it's not a conviction..

(NOT saying I think Dean is innocent of the charges/allegations, but just as a standard of law process)

But I do think that there do need to be some changes to the law that IF animals are removed for signs of neglect and abuse then NO other animals may be in that person's care until all charges are resolved one way or another.
