Dappled bay??

anyone else have a dappled bay horse???? heres mine, click to make it larger so you can see the dapples in her Bu*tt!

Does anyone know why they get dapples???? or if she'll lose them as she ages. she's 6 now.

Pretty! Any horse can have dapples. It's a sign of a healthy coat. Usually in the winter they loose them (with the ugly long coat), but they come back when they shed out.

I was just going to post pics of my gelding and we were remarking on his dapples today

I love dapples, pity they don't last forever on greys.

Feliche has dapples too! Mostly on his flanks. Dapples are a sign of a healthy coat and a healthy horse. A horse with a coat supplement is more likely to get dapples, but Feliche isn't on any kind of supplement like that, it's just healthy. Most horses only dapple in the summer time when the coat is shorter.

You can kind of see them in this picture. Though they're faint they're all over!
