That part I haven't entirely figured out either it's not more or less potentially dangerous that I can figure out. Horse can go down either way, but then horse can go down tied to a wall too, let's face it, the REAL truth is ANY stationary tying can and is dangerous when you think about it and when you think about how many horses are NOT 'bomb proofed' to things and can and do become freightened...

ANYWAY, Kizmet, You're Scottish so can argue passionately all day, but I'm IRISH (Well Grandpa came from Ireland anyway, lol) AND I am ITALIAN So I'm sure we could find a circular way to argue things until the next coming of Jesus

What I personally feel you are missing is that the POINT of the thread was to get people to stop and think about things before necessarily assuming. The Point was NOT to really give our opinions good OR bad about if how the situation was handled was truly appropriate after the fact or not, but I was meant to get people to think.

Hmmm I'll say it again.....I didn't have a problem with the method....I even gave an alternative for what I would do because *I* would not have done it myself.
The point of the thread was NOT missed by me anyway. I know what she was doing. And I knew about that horse from a thread a while back, so I already knew what was going on. What my problem was,,,,she asked what people thought about it, even AFTER the facts were laid out, but yet, because those facts didn't change people's opinions...lifestyles, personal matters, etc were brought in to try to make the 'disagreers' appear stupid for even saying anything. So you know what.....the 'other side' went about it poorly too Cindy.

People could give examples of other options all day but it wouldn't matter because you've done what you've done and you feel that was the right thing to do (which maybe it was for you). But when you ask what people would have done, be ready for answers differing from yours.

Its quite obvious the difference.
When the cart is stationary, only the horse is fighting.
When the cart is moving the horse is fighting AND the cart is fighting...there is a force going AGAINST the horse,,,not just a wall.

Kinda like using a tie down to get the horse to bump themselves or draw reins to pull their head down manually.

Cool. Maybe blister will be out of jail by then.

as for force....opposite force can keep a bad situation from getting worse as well.

for example. horse sits down, rope is about to break...forward force moves horse's body from down and back, to bringing the horse forward some....changing the center of gravity that the horse is creating.....

Dn't believe me? Go get pulled behind a pick-up. you sure aren't sitting "BACK" when it moves forward.

(don't think many people have access to a cart...or I'd say go get pulled around by a cart)

yes I see that point too. I'm now laughing though...cuz no way in heck could I hold a pickup back...I'm a 120 lb gal.....not a 1000+ lb horse
