Here, Here.
I'll toast to that lol

Do I have the kind of experience that say you have, which I know nothing about?? No, I do not but does that mean I cannot respond with what I do know just because I am not a pro? No, I have just as much right as you do. Believe it or not I have been around also and I do know a thing or two. I am not a so called "keyboard trainer", I am simply stating my opinion. That is all and I have every rigth to that, just as much as you do! Also, just because a response is given doesn't mean that method should be stuck with.

Cindy doesn't use this method on every horse she has. This WAS done 10 years ago just FYI and there is nothing to say she does this on a regular basis. The horse needed to get something sent to him loud and clear. Which was accomplished and she is not scarred for life because of it. Horses need to get their butts handed to them sometimes and after a year, it was LONG overdue.

What I meant by that is that people seem to think that a response equals that it worked, and yes that's true but it doesn't mean it's right. It was directed at anyone, just a general comment.

Once again you did not read what I posted but responded emotionally. I did not say that you did not have the right to your post. WHAT I DID SAY was that you did not have the right to say we were wrong. There is a difference. On that note I am going to bed.

Please elucidate on how to FIX this horse since Cindy did it wrong. That is what we have been asking and have not yet read your training method to solve this problem. If you are going to say it is not right then by all means PLEASE explain the CORRECT way to do this.

Well I don't think you can argue that it didn't work...
Well you probably could but you wouldn't win.
And by the sounds of it, the horses you are around don't let you win either.
Cindy and that horse picked a fight and guess who won?
You and that yearling picked and fight and who won?
It worked.
It got the job done.
She gave the mare the chance to be nice.
Now if she had gone straight to tying to the wagon I would absolutely disagree with her but she didn't. She gave her a chance and the mare continued to throw temper tantrums.

The horse was not hurt, she was not emotionally scarred, in fact she is living a much better life (in fact she HAS a life) because of this. So what part of that is "wrong"??

Gosh, I just love your spirit so much DB!! I know (as do many others on this forum) that you would NEVER do anything cruel to any animal, no matter how bad they were. I also know that if you were to see someone flogging the ever living snot out of a horse you would be the first to take what ever that person was flogging the horse with and use it on the offender lol.

People have to remember that while horses are our friends, they are 1000 lb friends with the brain the size of a walnut. Yes, some of those horses are equine geniouses and get the lessons with no hassle, and some are rebels that need to be shown how to behave with a person a 1/10th of their size.

I see no abuse here, just a horse learning on their own that "hmmmmmm, I'm just fighting myself here, maybe I need to quit pulling on that pressure" lol.
