Well when I first get to the barn, I put my purse in my tack trunk. And then I get my grooming stuff out, its in a little bag.

I curry him all over, head to toe.
Then I brush him with a hard brush.
Medium brush comes next, flicking motions.
Soft brush removes rest of the dirt.
Then I pick his hooves out really well.
Then I "comb" or pick at his tail, burrs and such have to go.
I brush his mane and forlock.
Brush his face with the face brush.
Then I put Thrush Buster on the soles.
Occasional Hoof dressing, but thats before he get done, or right after.
Mosterizer in mane and tail.

End Result:

Very Clean, Shiny, Happy, Horse

Aww, what a cutie!

Here's what I do -
Curry all over.
Brush with hard brush.
Brush body & face with soft brush.
Brush out mane and forelock.
Undo braid in tail, apply moisturizer, and brush.
Pick out feet and on occasion wash off legs if it's been super muddy and she's been outside playing.

I tend not to curry as Champ doesnt seem to like it much. (he is TB, thin skinned I guess) (winter here)

So I just Dandy brush then body brush most days...
Dont do the mane and tail much maybe weekly (weekends, when I actually have time!)
Pick out the hooves (but as I have discovered, not as well as I should - mild thrush but its clearing fast )
Weekly hoof oil
Weekly eye/nose/ear and bu.tt wipe. )

He's very shiney! Must put a photo on soon... )

Lol, this might take awhile.
Now this gets the horse super clean and shiny looking, even in the winter.
1. Curry with thick rubber brush
2. Curry with soft plastic-y rubber-y curry (optional)
3. Curry with thin rubber brush
4. Brush with rubber grooming mitt
5. Brush with old stiff brush (every three strokes, brush against the edge of metal curry comb)
6. Brush with new stiff brush ( " " as above)
7. Brush with medium brush (if you have one. '' "as above)
8. Brush with soft brush ( " " as above)
9. Brush body with face brush ( " " as above) optional
10. Brush/wipe face/ears with either a face/soft brush, or horse head wipe thing.
That's pretty much it...

I have two gromming boxes. I have my winter brushes then I change them out to my Spring/Summer brushes.

In Winter I hose off the feet and lower legs of the mud that is sure to be there for winter here is like mud heaven. If the horse is muddy I take a plastic curry and break up the mud and brush off the clumps. THen I have a long toothed rubber curry to get deep into the woolly fur coat. I use that untill I have gone all over the body suficiently. I then use a small round curry like brush (I got it at WalMart in the hair cair supplies) to get the mud and what not off the face. I then use my hard stiff brush (I dont stroke I power flip) and get rid of mud on legs if I did not hose them off THen I use the medium stiff brush and go all over the body, legs and face. After that I use a damp cloth and wipe eyes of eye boogers, Nostrils and mouth area and I use a seperate one for her back end. (never use a rag that you used on the back end for the face.)
I pick out feet, put conditioner on them if nessesary, pick out tail if in tail bag, pick out mane and rebraid if needed or if I feel liike it. Put meds on dings, boo boos and what not. I will also hot towel or vaccum when I feel like I want a good work out.

Spring/Summer groom box has, regular curry (I usualy wear out 2 or 3 of them in a summer) Medium Brush, fine finishing brush, Grooming towel and sometimes a "loofa type towel" (I used to know the name of the darn thing, I am currently suffering from a brain f art.) Pimple grooming glove for the face and the legs. (legs are usualy clipped of long wintery hair), hoof pick, detangler, Sweat Scraper, Hoof conditioner if needed. Also a fat picking comb.

I curry and curry and curry some more. Its my most important job to do when grooming for Spring and Summer. I want shiney, slick hair coat. Then I use the medium brush, groom towel or loofa towel over the body and the face gets the pimple grooming glove and the legs also. Brush the face, clean around eyes and nose with a damp rag and another one for the back end. Pick and reset tail if needed and pick out and rebraid mane if needed. Will use a conditioner in the manes and tails and a mild detangler. I pick feet and then conditioner if needed. I have other stuf in the tack trunk for what ever else I need. I clip trim when needed.

Wow...lots of elbow grease, but so worth it!
Queen had a "slacker" winter. I didn't curry much, just brushed her off a bit (didn't really ride much, so it didn't matter), detangled mane and tail.
Now that she's shedding, it's getting warmer and we're starting to work her...
"Eye boogers" come out when I go to get her from the paddock.
1 Curry body with one of the really aggressive looking Oster currys. It's got real thick nubbies on it, and works great for heavier stuff.
2 Curry body, face and legs with a fine curry, 'fingers' are really thin and bendable, and I've used it on her face without worry.
3 brush the hairs off with a cheapo plastic brush.
4 brush with dandy brush
5 brush with body brush
6 brush out mane and tail (unless hubby's done this already)
7 pick hooves (see #6 sidenote)
8 wipe nose if necessary.
Sometimes I will re-brush her with whatever brush seems to be needed at this point. I've also brushed mineral oil on her chestnuts and ergots and hooves.
She's gone from dull, fuzzy wooliebeast to having a coat that almost glows. No bath yet, rarely use any product on her coat....just in the mane/tail/feather areas.

1. Currycomb (hard rubber) then currycomb again (soft massager).
2. Comb his mane.
3. Hard brush him.
4. Medium brush him and his legs.
5. Spray on my conditioner stuff.
6. Body brush over him.
7. Spray mane and tail with moisturizer stuff.
8. Soft brush mane and tail.
9. Scrap gunk off hooves.
10. pick hooves.
11. Soft brush face.
12. Comb forelock.
13. Wipe nose & eyes.
14. Wipe dock area (yup everyday lol)
15. Hoof gunk goes on only if I'm not about to ride.

I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to grooming. I can't leave any dirt on. =P Too bad my horse doesn't like grooming all that much. He paws so much.. I keep telling him I'll groom the school horses at the barn if he doesn't like it because at least the school horses appreciate being groomed.

curry with a rubber wash mit on rough side, then use softer side and flick the dirt and loose hair away, then use soft bristle to further brush away dirt. Optionally i will take a damp rag and go over spots with that annoying dirt that wont go away, spread some sebum around...
viola, and i didnt even have to wash her
