curry combs

I was wanting to get your opinions... I have a rubber curry comb, a plastic (with hose hook up) curry and one of those metal sprial ones that have two rings to them.

With your all's experience...which is the best or should I say more popular?

Thanks for the input...
You all are great!

I have a metal curry comb and hate it. I love my rubber curry comb though. And I have one of those jelly scrubbers too which is okay. My horse hates those plastic curry combs that you hook to a hose. I just use one of those mesh bath scrunchies that you can get at Walmart on my horse when I give her a bath or a rinsing.

The metal is a shedding blade for removing that winter coat.. the plastic is for bathing.. the rubber is your general use.

Personally I like a grooma. I use it for washing, shedding, general, and of course massaging because my horses love it. But I suppose the rubber one you have can be used for all purposes also.

Horses that are not thin skinned normally love it.. that is how I bonded with one of my horses, the moment I start grooming him he went from a skiddish horse to a big puppy dog.. my other horse is thin skinned and I can only used it (or any other curry) during shedding season otherwise its to much for her.

I like the rubber for a deep down cleaning, but I use a plastic one first to take off some winter coat and dried mud.

I like the rubber one for everyday use. I have a plastic one, but I never use it. I haven't had much experience with metal ones.

Metal - I use for getting the dust and hair off my body and dandy brush

Rubber - I use to get the dried mud off and getting the grease up to the surface of the coat

Plastic - I dont use at all
