    Crochet Fly Bonnets?

Does anyone else crochet? Would you happen to have a pattern for a crochet fly bonnet? I'm working on a "practice" one, just trying to figure out the basic pattern but if someone else has done it before and can offer assistance, that would be fabulous. I'd prefer not to buy the pattern as I know it has to be simple. I just need help in knowing how to get it started so that I get the right shape around the ears and such....

I'm curious... I use the normal "Red Heart" yarn... and it seems a bit too thick... is it? What should the thickness/guage be?
    Maybe they're right
maybe there is something the matter with me

I have several "test" ones and am working on my first usable one. I chose a light cotton yarn. However I made mine much different from the normal ones. I wanted one that went all the way down the nose for more fly protection (this is mostly for trail riding).

I can let you know what type of yarn I am using and get some pictures if you like.

Also, forgot to mention, I just made measurements of my horse for the test one:

    between ears.
    around base of ears
    browband measurement
    from ear to eye

I took a few for then that, but thats because I am making mine longer.

I would love it if you could let me know what type of yarn you're using. Also... what's the size of your crochet hook?

I'll get all the info when I go home tonight and (hopefully) post it tomorrow!

Thanks. Now that I'm riding again... it'd be so much fun to show up for one of my lessons with a fly bonnet for the horse I'll be riding.
