Talking Critique Stormy

Since I've been riding Stormy alot more I'd love to have her critiqued I'd love the usual confo critique, and maybe movement too (though my video is pretty poor quaility). Also love any opinions on what discapline you think she'd be best at. And if anyone wants to guess her breed that would be awesome too Oh and how does her weight look (keep in mind she also does have a ton of hair right now lol)? I've been trying to get some weight off of her, how much more do you think she still needs to lose?

Please give an honest critique I won't bite if you tell me she isn't perfect

First off a confo shot

And a video of her trotting. I'm not sure if it is just me, but she looks off in her front end? in this video. I'm going to go and see what's up with that, it might have just been the footing or just abit stiff from being in a stall all day. Anyways not sure if this video is any good, but just thought I'd throw that out there lol

And of course a couple cute pics, just because

And if anyone is wondering. Here is a pic of her this spring, for weight comparison She was probably a 9 on the BCS here

I don't know much at all about conformation, but I'd say her neck and throatlatch seem to be a little on the thick side. However she is very cute, and I love her long thick tail. She has a sweet face too. I don't know if her hocks would be considered high or not...??? Overall she looks like a horse that is happy and has a good home and caring owner. By the way, she looks like she is at a much better weight than in the spring. Good luck with her. Have to say it again!!! Love that tail!

Thanks Would you believe that those spots showed up when she was about 3 years old? They are very unique lol

Thanks lol my method for keeping her tail is to ignore it for several weeks (or months) and then brush it out These we're taken on one of her good looking days

What a cute little girl! And man, am I jealous of the nice thick tail, mane and forelock. Those seem to be tough things to come by in the quarter horse world, where I am currently hanging out ...

In terms of the weight, I definitely agree that she is a much better weight than she was in the spring. But with all of the woolies on, it is a little bit hard to see if she is carrying "extra padding" around too (my guess is probably some) ...

Right now, it looks like her topline could use some more development and muscling. Make sure that she is using the right muscles when you are working her (especially at the trot). These muscles will help her visually look more even from withers to hips. But I agree with someone else who mentioned it above that she is probably hock high.

From the picture with the purple halter, it is a little bit difficult to see if she is just standing under herself and set herself up in a little bit of an awkward position, or if her whole front leg is pushed back significantly behind a vertical line (if you dropped a vertical line straight down from the top of her leg).

It is a little bit hard for me to say anything about her pasterns and hooves (especially the hooves), because in the one picture (again purple halter) where you have the best view of them, it seems like she may have been coming up for another hoof trim ...

All in all, she seems like an incredibly sweet and cute girl and one who would be very honest for her rider ...
