Critique Pearl

I'm working with this mare. She's a 7 year old paint. Ladys Lucky Pearl Paint

I have permission to do this.

Please, critique her as best as you can. Thank you.

And if you'd like, figure out her color for us lol!

And here's a picture of me going "Duuuhhh...sell me your horse"

So, have fun! No feelings will be hurt! She is due to foal in April.

wow... she looks majorly downhill in the first pic... up hill in the second.. and downhill in the pic with you on her. Shes the amazing switchable horse! lol jk more like the ground is sloping. I am guessing she is downhill but prolly not as majorly as it looks in the first pic. Her shoulder is like an itsy bit steep but its hard to tell with her coloring lol. I like her neck.. a little cresty maybe but I like the way it comes out of her shoulders. She seems a little under herself in the front but could be how she stands. Shes got a cuuute face... reminds me of Bessy a little... when Bessy was younger lol...and when she was being worked instead of sitting in a pasture and being old hehe but shes got that foundation bulldog look

The biggest thing that jumps out at me is her thick neck. It ties in nicely at the top, but ties in too low on the bottom. That itself is going to to make her predisposed to travelling on her forehand.

Her hocks are straighter than I like to see, but not nearly as straight as I see too often in QH/Paints bred for halter.

Everything else about her is pretty average to good - good back length, ok to slightly straight shoulder, good saddle position. Either these pics were taken from slightly above her, or her legs are on the short side. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but combined with her neck and straight-ish hocks would make me not consider her breeding material (not that you asked about that ).

Overall I think she's a very cute mare who looks like she can be pretty athletic, but I do think she will tend to be heavy on her forehand, so you will have your work cut out for you in that regard

I'm too tired to go through a whole conformational critique, but I will say she looks like she'd be a blast to ride bareback...she's a tank!

She looks like a good solid ranch style type horse with strength to do some good cow work. Love the color but sure would be hard to keep clean.

Albinoism doesn't exist in horses
