I would maybe add a dropshadow behing the name and add highlights, just to make it pop.

hmm okay this might get long XD! but dont feel like you are doing bad. When I started doing photoshops they were so much worse than that lol.

First off, you are doing a great job on cutting but depending on what program you are using, the cutting tool has some options to make the edges look nicer. In photoshop its called "Feather" and is on the top bar when you select your cutting tool. Turn your feather up to 1px or 2px to get smoother edges that will blend better with a picture. When you start doing things like manes and tails, 4-5px usually looks better. Just play around with it and see how it goes.

Second, I am not a big fan of the "faded" images look, mostly because its faded and not blended. I imagine you just turned the opacity on it down to get it to look faded. But what usually looks much better, is if you blend it instead. You blend by using the layers box (if you dont have photoshop I am sorry but thats what I use, you could probably google some tutorials on whatever program you are using to figure out what I am talking about). Anyways, in the layers box there is a drop down at the top that says "normal". Some of the best blends are "soft light" and "overlay" but play around with all of them everytime, because every picture blends differently and different blends can surprise you sometimes. This still gives you the sort of "faded" look but it also makes the colors of the image match the background, so it wont look dull (I dont mean as in boring, I mean as in the colors are dull when faded), it will look like the picture and the bg match better.

Now the rest of this is pretty much strongly my preference, but I think would help you get an overall more polished look for your pictures.

I will start with the name, these are just tips to help you make the name pop more, there is nothing wrong with a simple black name, sometimes it can be very effective. But if you have photoshop, in your colors box, there should be a small tab called styles, now this little tab, will become your best friend with words. In that box they have a lot of preset things, and you can create more (I have created a lot). One of those options is called like 1px stroke or something. This is black so if the text is black you wont see it, but if you make the text white it adds a very nice looking black border too it. Now if you want a drop shadow there is also an option for that. you can play around with these and its a lot of fun to make preset styles for the text or borders for a picture.

Next is how crowded the picture looks (once again, my opinion). Honestly I think it would look amazing with just the 1 picture there in the middle of the foal running. Never underestimate the power of using only 1 photo with an amazing background and some wonderful effects.

I will do one more so I dont overload you (probably already have). Once again, preference, about edges, In the top left there is a picture of her kissing the foal and it just has sharp, abrupt edges that disrupt the flow of the image, now usually I just avoid using pictures like that, but sometimes you can blend them so they flow into the picture and you dont even notice the edges.

Sorry if this is too much, and like I said you did a GREAT job, your cutting is excellent (should have seen some of my photoshops XD! they were horrible!)

Berlunz..PERFECT!! Thanks. that is exactly what I was looking for I'm using Gimp and the moment and literally JUST started..lol It took me forever just to figure out how to change the opacity (which you nailed that by the way ) I will take your advice and play with as many of those options as I can. Most of which I recognize so the program must have them as well..lol Thanks again!
