Ok so I got some photos today. I felt like my riding had been getting worse and worse but todays pictures I am actually pretty happy with, I think I'v improved heaps. There are still some interesting things happening at canter thought. Be as harsh as you like. Thank you ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You are looking a lot better, looks like you are looking down a touch though (i am bad for that too) but all in all much better In the canter, I'm not sure if your reins are a touch too long? |

Certainly an improvement. You should be proud. I am seeing a great improvement in your overall position. Your hands are much better and now have a nice line from the elbow. Watch the circles you aren't dropping your shoulder to try to keep him out on the circle. Keep your shoulders up. Always nice to see you ride and post pics. It is great to see someone who wants to improve.

I LOVE your horse! Only thing I can really say is maybe a touch more weight in your heels, and pick up a more steady contact with your reins.. It looks in your first picture that you could put your hands closer together.. But you're fairly solid looking and these are minor things... But gosh I love your horse.! |

Definitely looking good. I would like to see you looking up more and keep in mind your rein length (as mentioned above). As far as leg position, I would probably practice doing some stirrup-less exercises to mind your leg position (I don't know if it is camera angle but in a few pictures your leg does seem a little forward).

Agreed with all - your looking much better!!! Shorten you reins up a bit - I see while you carry your hands - they are being held over the pomel and less over the wither - when the are over the wither - you loose the contact. If its a bad habit to let the reins slide - put a knot in each rein so that you thumb rests home against it - forces you to keep the reins short and your hands out over the wither rather than in near your belly button. I think for the canter - you need to soften your lower back so you can follow the motion a bit better - hard to tell off a few photos - but the air inbetween your seat and your saddle at canter says to me that your to stiff through your lower back. 2 things you can possibly do - ride with the reins inthe outside hand and swing your inside hand in time with the canter from hip to shoulder, or hold it level in front of you straight out - really hard to do when your bouncing in the saddle. Or exaggerate the leaning back - lean far enough back that your rear stays in the saddle and you have to slide it on the seat to stay with the motion - try reacreate that feeling of scooping the saddle while you sit upright.

Pippy, haven't they come a long way. Remember the earlier pics of a stiff as a board horse and a the rider with lots of problems. I just love to see people improve.

I'm proud of you! It is so pleasing to see someone put the time and effort into themselves and their position - it instantly improves the horses way of going as well.
