Aren't the best pictures but can anyone tell me the good bad and ugly of him? I don't exactly like his back end all that much and I can't figure out why. I'll try to get square pictures (with no saddle) when I go see him next. His breed is debatable. I am thinkin Appendix or something with Thoroughbred. Thank you! Thank you for at least trying! I see he toes out front and back but I dunno what else it is that bugs me. I do like how his neck ties into his chest. |

Not the best pictures to critique from and there is only 1 picture with no saddle on but I will do the best I can. Has a nice head, good length of neck and decent angle of shoulder. Good length of leg with good length of pastern and good angle. Has good freedom at the elbow. From what I can see of the only picture of his back it looks fine. Good depth of haunch, clean hocks and good second thigh development. Back pasterns are also good length and angle and look strong and sturdy. Minor areas I would like to see a bit more shoulder angle. The lower foreleg is very slightly tied in and the one thing I would be working on with this horse is his neck. Looks a little too developed underneath and the top of the neck looks a little too straight because of that over development on the underside. Now this is not drastic but would be the area to make him look a little more polished.

Working on the neck. He is just a trail horse so when he goes to trot he throws his head up and runs around on the forehand. Working on getting him collected and long and low to fix that. Bothers me too. Thank you for that critique! | |

I could see appendix don't really see full TB, how old is he? I dont see sickle hocks, his back legs are pretty good, maybe a little posty, but not bad. pasterns look good, shoulder angle looks to be decent from what I can tell with the saddle. His cannon bones are very long and borderline a little finely built, I'm not sure if he would hold up to allot of hard jumping or hard stops (like reining). His neck could use some more muscle, if he were mine I would do allot of long and low and encourage him to relax through the back and really use himself. What are you looking at doing with him? Overall a very pretty boy and looks like he would be a great fun horse Quote: |

| Senior Member | Oh lord no. This horse doesn't need any weight on him at all from where he is at. No ribs are visible, no backbone. Muscle I can see. Weight? No. Fat isn't healthy and is just as bad as being skinny.
