Question Creaking joints

I know sometimes joints that creak can mean arthritis but what if your horse moves out willingly, lifts her hoofs as high as you want, moves forward and freely, shows no signs of arthritis or discomfort, yet sometimes (not often, and not always) her joints creak at the walk?

Sometimes a slight change in farriery can make the sounds go away. My other horse used to snap & pop when he got new shoes/ done. When I got him I changed farriers (to mine) who did things slightly different, and the snapping sounds disappeared permanently.

My mare's joints used to pop. I didn't know what it ment either. I started her on joint suppliments (she was 20) and now they don't make that noise.
