Covering roaning

What can be done to hide roaning without dying the horse's coat? In some areas the roaning has disappeared with age and in other areas it has increased. Is there a supplement or a color enhancing shampoo I can use?

Why do you want to cover it up? If the horse is roan colored it is suppose to be that way? What type of horse and stuff and color, red roan or blue roan?

You could always use grooming chalk or touch up sprays if the area is small....why do you want to cover it up?

Vita,

I also do not understand what exactly you are wanting to cover up. Feeding Paprika is sopposed to help maintain a red glow to the hair coat. I have been feeding it now for about 7 months and my bay horses are not nearly as sun bleached as last year with no Paprika. Of course feeding anything will not be a quick fix, takes time but worth the wait.

Roaning is awesome! I love roans.

If you are caught covering up markings at shows, you CAN be disqualified AND can lose your showing card!! Met a lady this weekend in Kansas that had that done. She had touched up a spot (BIG SPOT) and it streaked when the horse sweated. The show had her removed immediately. (Not this weekend, but she told me about it).

SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL about touch-ups!!!! Touch up scars are acceptable, but to alter the horse's ACTUAL COLORATIONS is bad!!

Are you trying to cover roaning or an older horse turning grey from age?
